A Year of Big Changes: From Budapest to Wolfsburg
As the year wraps up, I’m thinking about the many twists and turns that made this year stand out for me. I made some bold decisions, like putting my master’s degree in Budapest on hold, quitting my job where I was surrounded by good people, and moving to Germany. It’s been quite a ride, and I’ve met amazing people and built some useful connections along the way.
Moving to Germany and learning german had been on my mind since I was a kid, and I finally made it happen. Recently, I got a Blue Card Visa, which means Germany recognizes me as a highly qualified worker. In just a week, I’m starting my first job in Germany – it’s both nerve-wracking and exciting!
In the gap between getting my visa and starting my new job, I seized the chance to spend quality time with my family in Baku. It was a heartwarming break before diving into the new adventure. And guess what? I even squeezed in a trip to Copenhagen for a magical Christmas experience! I also met some of my friends from Budapest there. Nico, thx for taking the following photo :)
Looking back, I realize that taking risks and embracing change led me to this point. Leaving the comfort zone behind and diving into the unknown was scary, but it opened up a world of opportunities. The people I’ve met in Wolfsburg, both locals and fellow expats, have been welcoming and have made me feel at home. Yes, it sounds strange, but this time I felt as a guest at my parents place where I spent 20 years of my life.
With a bit of time left before my job kicks off, I wondered how to make it count. That’s when I decided to make this - my digital corner. It’s a cool way to share my journey, updates, and thoughts. Plus, it feels like a connection between who I am now and the person I want to be in the future.
Prost to the good people around me and the ones next year brings!
